Sailing…north&back

No longer living aboard my “big” boat and feeling my age @ 70, I sold the good ship Akimbo to find an “age and use-appropriate” smaller boat. A year and a half later (August 2024), two friends helped me sail my “new” boat home from Los Angeles. Since then, I’ve been equipping and dialing Voilà in for this summer cruise. So far, we’ve enjoyed lots of sun, good sailing, and exploration, both “out there” and internally. It has been some years since I’ve cruised like this, and I find I am not as confident as I used to be. Then again, these are challenging waters to navigate, I am older, this boat is new to me, and so is life after my father died. Being on the water has long felt like where I belong. I hope that has not changed, too! Though, of course, some day it will.

A family of Orca swam with us yesterday, and we stood by the largest cedar tree I’ve ever seen. We plan to be back by mid-July. “See” you then.
